Musicians: Meet Your Audience With Internet Radio

As an independent musician, I have found it quite challenging to build a loyal fan base and earn a living doing what I love. They can’t listen to us without them knowing we exist. But how can we let them know who we are and let them know about our style of music? Online Radio

Most artists set up a MySpace page or a website nowadays. Those are great tools, of course, but it still does not help to have a web site or MySpace page if no one knows who you are. How can potential audience reach an independent band?

I started uploading audio files of our songs a few months ago at a great radio station that provides artists free radio airplay called IMRadio.com We now have an exposure to a large international audience through IMRadio.com and we can communicate with our fans, making us feel in control of our music. That is very important when you put your heart and soul into what you do.

IMRadio.com is very easy to use. We simply signed up for a free account, which took all of a couple of minutes, and then we began uploading the audio files.

For listeners to use IMRadio is effortless as well. When you go to the web site, there is a drop-down box that lets you choose the genre you would like to listen to. There are many options! You could ever imagine every type of music - even some that you have probably never heard of. Included in some of the categories are acid jazz, adult contemporary, alternative, Americana, country., club music, emo, dance, death metal, and grunge.

A couple of non-musical categories to choose from - comedy/novelty and spoken word/poetry are also available at IMRadio. Radio stations can then come along and search Airplay Direct for material appropriate to their particular station. Once they have found your music they can download it instantly and get it into their playlists quickly without having to contact you and wait for you to post them a CD.

My band and I continue to enjoy the results of making ourselves available on IMRadio.com. It is such a kick to know that so many more people are enjoying our tunes, and we love hearing from our new fans. IM Radio is the perfect tool for artists who want to get their songs into radio rotation with no charge whatsoever. Online Radio

LCD TV Stands- The Way To Pick The Right One

Most new LCD televisions come from the factory equipped with LCD tv stands to hold the television upright on a flat surface. That LCD TV stands that come with a new LCD television are designed for use with that specific model and may not be secure enough for different television sets. One of the advantages of the thinner profile LCD televisions is being able to mount them on the wall, but many still prefer to place them on stands that put them in a more comfortable position for viewing.

Due to the wide screen format of most LCD TVs, they usually will not physically fit into a traditional television spot in an entertainment center. Most of these units come in a common size that will generally fit most LCD TVs. Using LCD TV stands the television can be placed on top of a flat stand or even a bedroom dresser depending on its size.

LCD TV stands have to be in a corresponding size to the television that is being considered. Many of the larger screen, above 50-inches, will probably be safer on a long, slender stand instead of two small foot-shaped stands or one that swivels, allowing the screen to be turned for better viewing.

Be Sure to get a Very Stable Stand

In most cases the included LCD Flat Panel Tv stands will hold the television securely, reducing the possibility of it tipping over. Examine the TV and stand to make sure it is very stable after you have installed it. A rug or carpet is not a great place to set up your TV, it would be much safer in a solid and stable location.

The LCD televisions should be moved very carefully as to not break the very thin glass that holds the liquid crystal technology. If the LCD gets bumped causing it to tumble of the stand it could become permanently damaged. Using good LCD TV stands gives homeowners peace of mind that their TVs will not topple.

Sometimes people have their television mounted on the wall and then choose to use LCD TV stands to lower the screen. In the event replacement stands have to be purchased they are best purchased from the manufacturer or authorized representative to insure the replacements hold the television as securely as they are intended.

What Does Karaoke Mean in Asian Cultures?

The societal customs of the Far East have fascinated many social scientists for hundreds of years. Probably one the most interesting things, in recent history, about these societal customs are their love of music and their love of singing in public. The first glimpse people had of this phenomenon was when Hip Hop Karaoke CDs and even Gospel Karaoke CDs started being sold in record numbers throughout the Far East. Since these singing machines first became popular a few decades ago, numerous citizens from the Far East have been enamored with the concept of them. In places like Japan, China, and South Korea, going out to a bar gives people the option to sing in public is an extremely popular source of entertainment for after work. No where else in the world is singing in public more a part of everyday life than the Far East.

Many cultures in the Far East are known for their traits of sincerity and dedication to their work. People of Far Eastern cultures are often seen to be stoic through the eyes of people not from those countries. Interestingly enough, people from China, Japan, and South Korea love to go out to the bars so that they are able to sing in public. And it is not just the young people that are going out for this entertainment. These types of bars are a seen as a time to relax and sing to the best of your ability. Middle-aged and older business men and women also go to these types of places just as much as young college aged kids go to these bars and restaurants. It does not matter if you are a good singer or a bad singer, just as long as you get out there and sing most individuals will not care about the tone. This form of entertainment is often enjoyed late into the night as plenty of locals stay at these establishments for hours on end.

Singing in public is seen, by some people who are a part of these cultures, as a way to evaluate a person and it is not by their singing ability. It is a way to see how courageous a person is and how much they are willing to put themselves out on a limb. It is common for business people to go to one of these bars or restaurants to host a business lunch or dinner. You can find out a lot about a person by looking at how they carry themselves while singing on stage in front of an audience.

The popularity of singing in public is such a fascinating part of Far East culture. It is not something that many people realize is popular until they travel to Far Eastern parts of the world and see for themselves how much these types of bars and restaurants are well-liked. In fact, many television programs featuring travel have done specials on bars that feature singing machines and they have also been featured on a popular reality show competition, where the competitors race around the world and complete tasks along the way. If you are ever traveling in the Far East a bar or restaurant where you can put yourself in the spotlight to sing is definitely a must-visit because you can get some great insight on local culture.

New Young Jeezy Songs

You don’t know who Young Jeezy is? Check out our Young Jeezy Mixtapes after reading this bio. Jay Jenkins (born September 28, 1977 in Columbia, South Carolina, USA), currently known as Young Jeezy, is an American rapper. He was formerly known as ‘Lil’ J’ in his early rap

Early life
Jay Jenkins was born in Columbia, South Carolina. As an infant Jenkins and his family relocated to Duncan Block, a neighborhood in Macon, Georgia (75 miles south of Atlanta). He eventually moved to West Atlanta’s 4th Ward between late 1999 and early 2000.

Like many hustlers on the mic, rapping wasn’t in Jeezy’s original game plan. As CEO of Corporate Thug Entertainment, Jeezy was content to stack his paper from the background.

“Before music I was just trying to survive out this motherfucker. I had other artists, some local cats off the street, but it didn’t work out,” explains the twenty-five year old Georgia native. “So I just decided to do it myself. Ain’t nobody gonna go as hard as you gonna go. I saw the bigger picture at the time. I have a way with words and I know how to hustle.”

Young Jeezy also won an award for ‘Hustla Of the Year” Soon his name traveled to P. Diddy’s label, Bad Boy Records that signed him in 2004 as one part of rap group Boyz N Da Hood. With the boys, he released a self-titled album in 2005 that peaked at #5 on Billboard Hot 200 chart. Despite the success, he left the group and the label to go under Def Jam as a solo artist. Spanning only a month apart from the Boyz N Da Hood album, he released a debut solo album ‘Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101′ under the new label. It went on platinum at the end of 2005 and propelled him as a capable solo artist. Like many other rap artists, Jeezy was a vocal one in what was happening in the society. When the Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005, he criticized the way government handled the crisis and opened his house to provide shelters for the victims. However, being a true street artist, he was also never off from controversy and rivalries. In March 2006, he was arrested following a shooting in Miami Beach, Florida and charged with illegal firearm possession. More information on Young Jeezy Mixtape here.
