Perfect Golf Swing is Determined by Individual Preference

It has been said that the perfect golf swing is the one that allows a golfer to hit the ball long and straight. Not all golf swings work for everyone and that it is an individual technique. While many people can have great success in hitting the ball quite a distance and relatively straight, their swing looks anything but perfect.

Shying away from golf lessons, many people work out difficulties on a driving range where they adjust their stance and their feet position to alter where the ball goes after it is hit, instead of working on the mechanics to achieve their perfect golf swing. They read about techniques in books, magazines and spend a ton of money of videotapes to learn how to make the perfect golf swing only dig numerous divots on the tee.

Many times what happens, is they have all this information but never allow it to become a natural part of their perfect golf swing approach and when they the address the ball their mind is cluttered with instruction. Basically they are just thinking about what to do too much instead of just doing it right.

Perfect Swing a Dream not Reality

Most golf pros will tell you there is no such thing as a perfect new golf swing and they can back that statement up by showing you the different swings of professional every week. While each swing is different, there are some common themes like aiming, setting up for the swing and hand position. The many different swings, and some are kind of ugly, work because, although the swing is not perfect it is consistent.

Swinging the club and striking the ball the same way each and every time will deliver the same results. This is the product of constant practice of holding your hands the same way and a consistent backswing and downswing speed and a consistent follow through once the drive is completed. This can produce the perfect golf swing for that golfer. They have found it works for them and they are not about to change.

One of the keys, however is the speed of the golf backswing. A fast backswing will generally result in a forced attack on the ball resulting in topped balls and erratic flight. The speed of the backswing should set the approach for striking the ball and the speed of the downswing may be slightly faster towards the bottom as the weight of the club allows it to pick up speed just before impact.
