About Kailua Vacation Rentals
By availing of Kailua vacation rentals, any knowledgeable traveler will be in for a treat as they offer the most cost-effective, most comfortable and most luxurious stay there is to Hawaii. Note, however, that in this tropical destination, there are 2 Kailua’s, the one we’re talking about is that which is in the Ko’olaupoko District of O’ahu on the windward coast at Kailua Bay.
In the Hawaiian language, the contraction of the words “kai,” which means sea or sea water and “‘elua”, meaning two, would give you the meaning of Kailua: two seas or two currents; it’s so named because of the two lagoons in the district or the two currents which go to the Kailua Bay.
Fifteen centuries ago, Kailua was said to have been the home to numerous Hawaiian families. The early settlers were thought to have lived along the slopes of the Kawainui Marsh. A report on archaeological excavations of the marshland mentioned that when the marsh slopes were first occupied around 500 AD, agriculture wasn’t feasible. Thus, it’s thought that the early settlers of Kailua have lived somewhere near the bay or the open sea - hundreds of yards away from today’s shoreline.
More interestingly, note that Kailua has no hotels, motels or resorts; but Kailua vacation rentals have been powdering the area aplenty. The locals are eager at welcoming visitors in their homes, cottages and spare rooms. Thus, they’re transforming their homes to Kailua beach rentals or Kailua vacation home rentals.
Kailua is one of Oahu’s most stunning beaches with excellent swimming and wind surfing. Since the beach has fine sand, it is great for sunbathing and other recreational activities. In addition, this part of Hawaii is a world-class wind surfing destination. Never mind if you don’t have the lessons and the gear - a lot are up for grabs just around the corner.
Numerous offshore islands create a beautiful backdrop to this tropical destination. Kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding to the protected seabird sanctuaries Flat Island and Mokulua Islands have become increasingly in-demand as water activities at the beach.
Other fascinating sceneries in Kailua are the Lanikai Beach, Kailua Beach Park, Kawai Nui Marsh and the Marine Corps Base Hawai’i.
Also bear in mind that Kailua is a magical place for all to embrace. Part of the land was used for agriculture, others were utilized for cattle raising. Several ancient temple ruins, like the one at Ulupo Heiau State Historic Site, are in the area.
Kailua hasn’t only proven itself to be the home of the best beaches, but it has also stamped itself as the official winter White House for President Obama. To this effect, it’s no question that Kailua vacation rentals can provide the best of everything; from studio apartments to fabulous sea-side estates.
Come, enjoy…kick back…play…nap under a lazy tree…dine in one of the several casual restaurants…fall in love…play with the kids…experience all that Kailua vacation rentals have to offer.
